Love is a bittersweet poem

By Elizabeth Hammer

I’m getting quite bored of feeling this way
This bittersweet sadness creeps into my good days
And I wish I could have been there during your darkest hour
But it was impossible for me because I was on a ten foot tower
within my own mind
While these demons were coming to get me
But I would have loved to see you
Even a glimpse or two
in the dreamworld
I could escape to your home
Stay with you, holding you close
And who’s to say that it can’t happen one day
But If I had things my way
I’d be happier by now.
