A Starting Point for Saving Nature

Haiku by Sandra S. Hall

Our wandering orb
is in perilous danger.
Wild things go extinct.

To save our planet
how do we change bad habits?
We have things to fix.

What acts bother us?
We must all work together
fixing our habits.

So where do we start?
Focus thinking on actions.
Acts to deal with are:

reuse, recycle,
remodel, regenerate
reprocess, and save.

More actions include
enjoying life with less stuff.
Things don’t replace acts.

We can’t fix nature.
We must help it save itself
by thinking clear thoughts.

Stop using poisons.
Species are going extinct.
Gone is forever.

Start actions at home.
Make your yard a habitat.
Keep all within safe.

These creatures aren’t bad – –
bees, wasps, lizards, mice and worms.
They all warrant space.

Birds, toads, and spiders
stop insect populations
from taking over.

Many things we mow
are crucial in habitat
to help species live.

Find things around you
to restore for all to share
the comfort of Earth.
